i finally got to meet him at his nyc show oct. 6. we arrived at the venue early enough to ensure that we’d be right up front—which we were. aside from being surrounded by such friendly people and bearing witness to one of the greatest musical experiences ever, we got to meet him ever-so-briefly after the show. i even got to thank him and he gave me a huge hug. he’s suuuuuuuch a nice guy and i do not understand how he has the energy to put on the kind of shows that he does night after night. i’ve seen a lot of musical acts, but never once witnessed someone who puts his or her entire being into a performance the way michael franti does.

the world definitely needs more people like him. we’d be so much better off if everyone was so peace-oriented and willing to look at life from myriad perspectives. <3
